Releasing a book ‘Brief History of the Nepali Congress’ penned by NC leader and former minister Arjun Narsingh KC at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar today, Prime Minister Deuba said it was necessary to defend fearlessly against the false propaganda about the NC active in favour of democracy, justice and equality since its establishment.

He laid an emphasis on the need for making publicity to remarkable works carried out by the NC for country’s development and the people’s upliftment since establishment of democracy in the country by leading democratic movements in Nepal.

He mentioned that the NC, which has been working in the favour of the people and the nation since its establishment, has its clear stance that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact should be passed as ‘it is for the development of Nepal’.

The PM stated, “The NC has the same view regarding the project. The party has already decided to pass it.”

The NC would always respect figures, BP Koirala, Ganeshman Singh, Subarna Shumsher Rana, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Surya Nath Upadhyay, who have given a great contribution to the establishment of democracy in Nepal, he said.
